In the mid-week game, Trojans claimed a 9-5 victory, despite a big push by Round Rock Westwood Warriors Varsity in the sixth inning.
On defense, Jack Kurio pitched Trojans to victory. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over four innings, striking out six. Peyton Zachry and Carter Raney entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Trojans was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
Trojans fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jake Rugley singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. Trojans tallied four runs in the fourth inning. Trevor Marek, Kyle Brown, Drew Blankenship, and Andrew Mitchell each had RBIs in the frame.
The Trojan Varsity have one more tournament, CenTex Invitational, which is held in Dripping Springs and Bastrop. The first home district game for the Trojans is Thursday, March 29, 7:30pm against Bowie. Pencil that one on your calendars! Love to see you there. Always nice to have a friendly, lively home crowd!
