Anderson Trojans Varsity Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Cooper
Anderson Trojans Varsity and Cooper traded the lead back-and-forth on Thursday, but eventually Anderson Trojans Varsity prevailed 10-7. Anderson Trojans Varsity took the lead for good in the seventh inning. The game was tied at three with Anderson Trojans Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Richard Sobczak singled off of Cole Lewis, driving in two runs.
Cooper scored four runs in the seventh inning, but Anderson Trojans Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Cooper came thanks to a home run by Seth Watts, a single by Jarred Gibson, and a home run by H Gant.
Anderson Trojans Varsity captured the lead in the second inning. Anderson Trojans Varsity scored one run on a stolen base in the second inning.
Ross Rivero earned the win for Anderson Trojans Varsity. He tossed two innings, allowing four runs, six hits, striking out two, and walking zero.
Walker Sigman started the game for Anderson Trojans Varsity. He went five innings, surrendering three runs, four hits, striking out nine, and walking zero.
Home runs for Cooper came when Watts homered in the seventh inning, Gibson homered in the fifth inning, and Gant homered in the seventh inning.
Anderson Trojans Varsity collected eight hits. Drew Blankenship and James Baran each collected multiple hits for Anderson Trojans Varsity. Blankenship went 3-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in.
Cooper had ten hits in the game. Gibson, Tommy D’Alise, and Seth Freeman each collected multiple hits for Cooper. Gibson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Cooper in hits.
