ANDERSON HIGH SCHOOL—- The Anderson Trojans defeat the Bowie Bulldogs with a comeback victory, 45-40 at home.
Playoff implications, senior day, high stakes. Trailing 27-16 at the half, The Seniors were determined not to go down without a shot at the playoffs. With their work cut out for them, the Trojans went to work one possession at a time to slice into the Bowie lead, which reached as much as 13 points. The Trojans strung stops together, completely reversing the first half. Bowie was held to 8 points in the third quarter and the Trojans had brought it to a one possession game entering the fourth. The Trojans trailed 32-35 to start the quarter. A Colin Trautman floater tied the game up at 38. Then, with under 2:00 to play, James Wright drove baseline and found Colin Frame for a go ahead 3. The Trojans led 41-38 and never looked back. The 45-40 finished capped a 29-13 second half for the Trojans. Colin Frame scored a game high 26 points and led the Trojans to the playoffs.
The Trojans end district play with a 10-6 record and a 3rd place finish. They qualify for the Texas 6A Playoffs for the second straight year. They will take on Rouse at 7:30 PM at Round Rock High School on Tuesday.
