Game Recap

WESTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL—- The Anderson Trojans fall to the Westlake Chaparrals on the road 48-53.

Anderson kept it tight in the first quarter thanks to 5 points from Eric Conner and 4 from Ben Haws to only trail 17-14 after eight minutes. But the offense was unable to replicate its first quarter production and only put up 3 second quarter points. Westlake did not share any of the Trojans offensive woes and put up 9 points to take a 26-17 lead into the locker room. The Trojan offense came out and found their offense in the thrid behind 4 points from Adam Zambie and a Logan McCormick 3 that contributed to 13 Trojan points for the quarter. Westlake still kept pace and scored 15 to stretch their lead up to 11 entering the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Trojans caught fire from beyond the arc. Eric Conner made three 3’s including a half court shot as time expired. Conner Smith and Logan McCormick each added another but it proved to be too late as the Chaps made 10 free throws down the stretch to secure a 53-48 win.

The Trojans fall to 8-7 in district play with their final game of the season on Tuesday at home vs. Bowie.
